I know, I know. You have been hearing it all your life. “Drink plenty of water. 8 glasses a day.” And so often, we have the best of intentions, but fail to follow through.

The well renowned Mayo clinic suggests 8 - 8 ounce glasses per day. Things like exercise, hot weather or being in heated indoor air all lead to loss of water in your body. The more you are exposed to these things, the more you should increase your water intake.
Is water the only option?
Variety is the spice of life. Why not vary your fluid intake. Some healthy alternatives:
Fresh fruits and veggies
These not only fulfill some of your daily body fluid requirement. They are also loaded with anti-oxidants which are great for your skin!
Milk, juice and herbal tea
Keep in mind that juice can tend to be high in calories and sugar. This doesn’t mean you have to stay away from it. Just try diluting it a bit with sparkling water. You’ll have a tasty drink with fewer calories.

How do I know if I’m drinking enough?
Periodically check yourself:
- Is my thirst quenched?
